Your Guide to Finding Cheap Engagement RingsPosts RSS Comments RSS

Brides usually make one of three mistakes when picking out wedding shoes.

  1. They may not put enough emphasis on the heel.
  2. Some women do not pick shoes that flow flawlessly with the rest of their wedding attire.
  3. The most dramatic mistake is choosing an uncomfortable shoe.

However, none of these mistakes have to be made. Here is how to pick out the perfect bridal shoes.

The first thing to take into consideration is the heel. Some brides are not aware, but wedding gowns are made for shoes with a heel. If you do not get a shoe with a substantial enough heel, like with classified flats, the bottom of your dress may drag. This can cause the hem of your dress to get dirty at your wedding whenever you are outside, or even dancing on the dancefloor.  On the other hand, if your heels are too high, you may find that you have lost that floor-length gown look that you were dreaming of. This is one reason that the shoes must be tried on with the dress.

However, the hemline of the dress is not the only thing that needs to be aligned with the shoes. You want the shoes to look like they were made for your dress. Satin or silk are the traditional choices, but there is no reason that you should not add embellishments to make the match perfect. Make sure that the shoes match your style, just like your dress does.

Comfort is crucial on your wedding day. You must consider all of the activities that you will be participating in. If you are going to be skydiving, your shoe needs will be significantly different than if you are planning on dancing until midnight. You must walk around in your shoes. Try breaking them in before the big day, but be sure not to wear them in any situation that they could possibly be ruined or stained.

You’re planning your wedding. This is your big day and you want everything to be beautiful – to match your vision. An important component of that vision is the wedding jewelry for the bridal party. You want them to be a compliment to you, and the right jewelry helps complete that picture. How do you find the right jewelry without adding more stress? Here are some helpful hints:

Ask yourself what you want. Get a basic idea or concept before you start looking by asking considering the following questions:

  1. Does your wedding have a theme? A valentine theme brings hearts to minds. A princess theme = sparkles. Use the theme to inspire you!
  2. What dress style have you chosen? The neckline will influence the type of wedding jewelry you choose: choker, long chain, short chain, etc.
  3. What color are the dresses? Do you want to match or play off of the color? What are the skin tones of the bridesmaids?
  4. What is your budget? The number of bridesmaids will influence your budget considerations. Remember, expensive doesn’t necessarily mean better.
  5. Is the sizing adjustable? You need to be sure that the jewelry will fit all of your bridesmaids. For example, you don’t want them to be choked by their choker!
  6. What style of wedding jewelry best suits your vision, metal or stone, classic or contemporary? The jewelry should complement the tone of your wedding as well as your bridesmaids’ dresses.
  7. When making your selection, you can always ask for input from a trusted source (mom, maid of honor, etc.), but trust your instincts. This is your event, your vision.
  8. Something else to consider is the post-wedding wear-ability factor – will the wedding jewelry be something the bridesmaids can enjoy wearing again and again? Not a make-or-break question for the jewelry, but always a point in your favor!
  9. You may want to choose something extra special for the Maid of Honor in recognition of the help and support she’s given. Something that matches the bridesmaids wedding jewelry yet stands out to signify the place of honor she holds.

Where do you find bridesmaids jewelry? Sources include: online, catalogs, your favorite store, a local bazaar, perhaps even a friend who makes custom pieces. Be sure to ask about the store’s warranty/return policy to remove as much stress from the process as possible.

Enjoy the experience! Take your time, make a plan, have fun with it!

Weddings are indeed the most exciting occasion in a woman’s life and everyone involved is very excited about the celebration.  Of course, the bride would like to look extra special for her exceptional day.  She would like to be the most beautiful woman in the wedding hall.  Her gown was carefully chosen and accessories like brooch, necklace, bracelets, earrings and head dress are matched to get the look she wanted.

Bridal tiaras are always the first choice as a head dress and buying from local stores has made it so common and regular.

As a result, some women who welcome the challenge make their very own bridal tiaras – God bless them for their creative talent.  Making your tiara is a great way to make the look more regal and elegant.  One that is well-made can look effortless and can be made according to the bride’s personal taste.

Make Your Own Wedding Tiara

Have you ever considered doing it yourself?  It is easier that you think.  Here what you would need to make your own wedding tiara:

-glue gun or heavy duty glue

-pliers or wire cutters

-10 silk beads or pearls

-10 treasure beads

-beading wire

-3 copper rods

-silver beads

-steel cloth

Instructions:

Step 1: Purchase the beads that you would want to be put on your tiara.  They can be silver, beige, white and gold.  These colors are all ideal for bridal tiaras.

Step 2: Bend the 3 copper rods so that it will make a U shape.  The head of the bride should be measured so that this U shape will fit on her head.

Step 3: Use the steel cloth to be able to do the buffing of copper rods.  They should be shiny enough and the black spots should be taken off.

Step 4: Put the 10 beads of your choice on the beading wire.  Continue making this process until all the beads are on the wire.  After that, put on the 10 treasure beads.  Be sure that you will be leaving a gap of 6 or 7 inches on either side.

Step 5: Put the silver bead onto the copper rods.  Remember to put it only one side.  You would need about half an inch of the rod by the end.  After this the beading wire should be wrapped around the tail for about 5 times.  You will need to do this to make it extra secure.  Cut extra wire.

Step 6: The copper rod should be wrapped with beading wire.  Do this until it reaches the opposite side.  Be sure that leave enough space for the wire around the tiara.  Make sure that it is also secure on the opposite side the same as the one before.  The wire at the back should be loose and the front should be tight.

Step 7: Use the glue gun to put on the silver beads to the tiara on both sides.  Once you have put the beads, make it hold on for a minute so that it will be secure.  When you have put all the beads on the bridal tiara, make it stand on an upright stance for at least 24 hours.  This will make the glue tighten, thus making the beads stay in place.
